Scenic Sunday #68

November

The stripped and shapely
Maple grieves
The ghosts of her
Departed leaves.

The ground is hard
As hard as stone.
The year is old
The birds are flown.

And yet the world,
In its distress,
Displays a certain
Loveliness.

- John Updike from "A Child's Calendar"

  1. That's a perfect autumn scene. I really enjoy it! Wish I could come across something like that!

  3. Yes, nice poem.
But now write your own poem!
    Just improvise:

    The birds are gone
    my mind will follow
    at home my love
    is raking leaves

    My uncle knows
    innocent kids
    always die in wars
    who is to blame

    we go on
    with our lifes
    but sometimes
    we die a bit
