Hot for Scraps

We're still having a heatwave! Boy, is it hot! But I did manage to get some scrapping done. Here are 7 more flowers for Grandma's Flower Garden.
When I put them on the floor I was afraid Mimi would get on them. But Mimi is one hot pussy today. She doesn't want to be bothered.

"Meow! Go away!"
Felix, on the other hand, used this opportunity to sit on my flowers. He loves to sit on my quilts and parts of quilts, but he never gets a chance to do what he wants when Mimi is around.
I have been working on the tiny scrap blocks I made using left-overs. I decided to start putting them together. I feel the need to finish something. I found this polka dot fabric in my stash. I bordered 2 in. of polka dot fabric around each 2in. block. I have seen this done with white fabric, but I am a lover of colour, so the polka dots seemed perfect! I hope I have enough of it. I still have a couple of rows to add to this top. My plan was for it to be 6 by 7 blocks, but only if I have enough fabric. Wish me luck!

I love your flowers! And the cats do seem to love the nice feeling of fabrics!
Your scrap quilt is lovely. Could you make a close-up of one of the block.

Right now we are having a terrible storm. Lots of rain, wind, lightning. Scary. Hope it will cool down a bit after the storm!!!

Have a lovely afternoon. xo

Sending luck your way Hetty. It is just beautiful here today. Not to hot and not to cold. I think Mimi would like it!

I love what you have done with the 2 inch squares and the use of the polka dot fabric. I think it will give a nicer effect than just boring old white.

I just got hooked on hexies. I just finished two totes and a 4 round for a pillow top.
that is a lot of hexies. I am using the paper method and love to do it.

I like what you did with the tiny squares. The dotted fabric is so much more interesting than plain white.
We're in the heat wave too. We did have a breeze today so it didn't feel as bad as a still day.

Lovely flowers and a very gorgeous Scrap Happy Summer quilt. The dots are adding something extra to the quilt! Lovely!

We finally have a reasonably cool morning, after some heavy thunderstorms yesterday, but temperatures will rise again...

Your grandma's flower garden flowers are coming along beautifully. :o) And I just adore your helpers! I have three of my own who believe the fabric I am arranging is as much theirs as it is mine.
There is a new little page on my blog titled "bartering" and wanted to extend the invitation. :o) I am looking to trade fabric scraps for quality handcrafted jewelry. :o)
Sincerely ~ Tricia

I guess this is all about quilts and yes, they are always beautiful.
But quilts with cats? They think they own them.
And Mimi adds extra zest and so does Felix when he gets a chance!
