A Friday Flimsy!

It's a flimsy folks!  I have been working on this quilt, on and off, for a long time.  Terry of Terry's Treasures did it as a quilt along on her blog.  I tried to keep up, but there was always something else to do. So yesterday I sewed like a demon and got the top finished.  It's not ironed, but you get the idea.

I wanted to take a photo outside because we have beautiful sunshine today!  But the sun was too bright and I have nowhere to hang it so that the whole quilt can be seen.  I'll make sure I have someone hold it for me after I get it quilted.

I am linking up with 'Finish it on Friday' at Crazy Mom Quilts.  I know I will have lots of visitors today, so if you stop by, please leave me a comment.  Thanks.

Busy, Busy

My Japanese student is arriving this evening.  So I am busy.  But I just can't walk past my sewing machine without wanting to sew something.  The 16-patch is now a flimsy.  It's going to have to wait to be quilted though.  There are a couple of other quilt tops that I want to quilt too.

I am planning to work on the Wiggly Whimsy this week.  I want to get it finished.

I wasn't going to start anything new until I had finished some of my many flimsies.  But then I saw the split nine-patch on Bonnie Hunter's blog.  This is the 2013 Leader and Ender Challenge - Split 9 Patch.  It's to be an ongoing project.  There is no hurry.  Since I use leaders and enders all the time, I think I will try this challenge.  Here is the first block I made just to see what it will look like.   Not bad.  I think it's doable.

Ongoing Wiggly Whimsy and a Finish of Sorts

Here is my progress on the Wiggly Whimsy quilt-along I am following on Terry's blog.  I did two more rows and have another one started.   This quilt is really fun to make.

I love Terry's blog.  I find her so inspirational.  She makes lots of pincushions too.  Since I cleaned up and threw out several threadbare ones, I really needed a new one.  So I decided to use the scrappy hexagon that I made last summer for a lavender potpourri.  Unfortunately my lavender didn't dry too well.  I think it was too hot and humid in my shed last summer.  So, what to do with the hexagon?  Why, make a pincushion of course.  Cute, eh?

Another Wiggly Whimsy Strip

It is March the 1st.  Time is flying by, but when I look outside it still looks like winter.  It is sunny, but cold.  No more snow is forecast for today.  So is March coming in like a lion, or a lamb?  Maybe more like a dopey kitty.  This is Felix.  He is my huge kitty!

Here is this month's Wiggly Whimsy strip.  I am doing this along with Terry.  With her help I was able to put the photo onto Flickr too.  Thanks Terry!  I have posted lots of pictures to Flickr in the past, but for some reason it wasn't working for me this time.  Hope I can remember how to do it for next month.

I seem to have a lot of lurkers on my site.  Yesterday I had 160 hits.  But only 3 people left me a comment.  I really need to read your comments, folks!  So if you stop by today, please leave me one.  Thanks!

Wednesday's Flowers

I finished the top left side of my hexie basket quilt and am now working on the top right side.

Also finished the first month of Terry's quilt along.  Only one of these panels has to be made each month.  So it is easy to keep up.   You can find the quilt on her side bar.  It's called Wiggly Whimsy by Rebecca Silbaugh.  Thanks Terry.
