A Finish!

Day 19 of Blogtoberfest.

Bee Night was a blast! Lots of chatter and sewing. Exactly the things that I love best, And,,,,,

I finished the table mat! I love it! Don't you? I may make a few more to give away as hostess gifts around the Christmas season. There is no batting in this mat. And no binding. I just sewed the top to the backing, right sides together, and turned it through the hole that was in the centre. (I hadn't put the circle in the centre yet.) Then I pressed it and did a bit of quilting 1/4 inch from the edges of the blades. After I had attached the centre with a blanket stitch, I did a bit of free-motion quilting on it.

Here we are at the Quilting Bee, happily working away. It was a terrific evening!
I wasn't the only one who made a mat. Here are the other quilters from our guild who turned out last night. Like I said, it was a blast!
