I think I can finally say that I am feeling better. This cold lasted a long time - over a week. Not only did I blow my brains out and cough up a lung, but I also had no energy. Sewing was a waste of time. I could not follow a pattern. But I did find a very easy quilt pattern on Bee Square Fabrics. It was this pattern by Crazy Mom Quilts. The whole thing is done in long strips which were then cut and sewn back together. I started it sometime last week, but made the mistake of placing it on my 'design floor' and forgetting about it. When I got up the next morning this is what I found!
I am sure this is Mimi's handiwork! She just loves to pounce on my blocks and push them around. She also likes to hide under them if they have been sewn together into strips. But I could not get her to confess! No way! Oscar pleaded innocent too. He says he just likes to sit on anything I make. Open your eyes, Oscar! I want to see if you are telling the truth!
I redid my 'design floor' and sewed some of the blocks together, but I did not have the energy to finish the quilt. Another UFO! Oh, well.
I did finish the Friday Block Party block for this week. It's called the Queen's X. It is another 10-inch block, so I did it in batiks. This one was an easy block, but with my lack of energy it took me three days to complete!

Yep, nothing like furry kids for helpers. :)
Best regards,

Great post! I love the photo of Oscar. He does look innocent, but we can never tell with our furbabies. Glad to hear you're feeling better.
That is so funny! But I'm glad I don't have any kitties! I'll just have to enjoy yours.
Glad you’re feeling better!
The quiltpieces look promising!!
I guess your kitties just wanted to take over the quilting so you would be surprised with a finished quilt after recovery...LOL!
Mimmi and Oscar certainly are two lovable characters and quilting just wouldn't be the same without them. It's the same in my household with Fergie and Jordie.
I'm glad to hear that you are finally getting back into doing some quilting. My head still feels like it's inside a fish bowl and I have no desire to sew. I'll look at the fabric and nothing really makes much sense, I just want to go and take a nap LOL.
Hey, Hetty!
Glad you are feeling better...and glad to see I'm not in the minority when it comes to "cat help"! My two like to come upstairs and sit on anything that is handy... long as it is soft, they don't seem to care if I'm using it or not! AAaaannd, they really don't like to be moved - ALL fabric and craft stuff belongs to the CATS (they may let me use some stuff if it might amuse them! Depends on their mood.)Find another project, Mom... I'm sleeping here!
I am glad to hear that you are feeling better.
Glad you are feeling better. Sometimes those nasty colds seem to hang around for such a long time.
Our kitty does the exact same thing, my hubby says that if we were to put a postage stamp on the floor that she would sit on it!
x
Oscar or Mimi ~ they're both spicy in the dark of night!
I love your Friday Block Party block. So completely hip! I'm happy to know you're on the mend. Did you pick up your lung after you coughed it up because that hurts!
i'm sorry to hear you've been sick, but glad to hear you're feeling better. i love the work you've been doing despite it all. :)
I am sure Mimi and Oscar had the best of times.
And the design they created is not bad coming from little creatures.
Oscar looks great and innocent: you will never know, maybe Mimi did it all by herself!
