I took this photo one summer a few years ago when we were camping in Algonquin Park. This is in the abandoned airfield. It is off highway 60 on the road that leads to Mew Lake Campgrounds. Not too many people know that this used to be a working airfield. During WWII planes took off and landed here, but the area has not been used as an airfield since the 1960s. It's a huge, flat, open space with lots of blueberries ripe for the picking. We have also seen numerous deer in this area. Bears have also been spotted here. The weather can change quickly in Algonquin Park. One minute it can be sunny and the next there can be a deafening thunder storm! I loved the clouds on this day. With the flat, open space, the sky looked as if it could just swallow us up. Oh, and by the way, we picked lots of blueberries to put in our pancakes the next morning for breakfast.

I love this, every element in is "just right" - the people in their concentration, the lovely heavy clouds, the wight of the season. Lovely!
Oh, I love this sky. Great shot
Such a beautiful capture, with wonderful colour and great composition. There is nothing better than berry picking on a nice day! Thanks for sharing.

Lovely shot!
This looks like a wonderful place for camping AND for berry-picking! (I could do without a visit from the bears, though.)
I love Algonquin and have camped several times at Mew Lake. Didn't know of the airfield though. Great photo! Looks like you were having a lot of fun.
Very picturesque! I enjoyed your post.

Hetty: That is a beautiful capture of a really neat sky.
Did someone say blueberries?
What an awsome place. Looks like you had it all to yourself. Beautiful sky too.
A great sky and a lovely park, we enjoyed it in the autumn.
Interesting shot! It seemed that someone painted the clouds in the sky.
Mmmm. Picking blueberries under such a gorgeous sky must have been a treat. I'm surprised there were any berries left for the pancakes!
What a beautiful photograph. It would make a lovely painting.
that kind of skies is good wehn you are outside. Not too warm, not too cold.
Hi!
I've been to Canada fourth times.
but I've never seen your city, Toronto.
Is this beautiful sky in your city?
I enlarged the picture.
It is then even more exeptional in its beauty.
A great shot.
Congratulation.
