Just a Few of my Perennials

It's a hot one today.  Can't concentrate on quilting, so I thought you might like to see some of my perennials.  This first one is a Columbine.  It is very similar to the wild columbine that is our city's (Scarborough) official flower.

When I looked out this morning I noticed that a few of my Oriental Poppies have opened up.  With all the rain and heat I don't expect these to last too long.  But they are beautiful right now.

And here is a shot of that blue and white Iris I showed a couple of days ago.  It is in full bloom now!  I love this thing!  Oh, yeah, I said that already.

You Ontarian's must have taken all the summer from us Westerner's. It is bloody cold today! It has been awful for the past week. Frost warnings everynight. My lavender is slowly and sadly dying from being hit by the frost and lack of sun.
My oriental poppy does not even have a bud on it yet! The only color is the alpine plants in my garden, they do not mind the crappy weather =)
Maybe you can send a little sun my way?? hee hee
hugs,
Carolyn

That iris is still the prettiest thing I've seen lately.
It's hot here, too. Guess summer is here.

Thanks for the flowers pictures Hetty! All flowers here are already gone, due to the heat and drought we had. I need to make a trip to the garden center to find some new ones. Love those poppies!

I love, love, love the columbines... There is such a grace to them. I can grow them in Oklahoma if I'm lucky, if they are in the shade and if I remember to water them daily... but I do love them. The poppies are beautiful and that is one flower I haven't had much luck with at all. The iris are always, always beautiful.

Thanks for sharing!
