I finished another Disappearing Nine Patch quilt. I used left overs from other charity quilts as well as some of my own scraps. This one will be donated to Quilts from the Heart when our guild starts up again in September.
I thought some of you might like to see this. It's the first flower on my 'mystery' vine. A beautiful colour, but impossible to tell what kind of plant, since all flowers on squash, cucumbers and pumpkins look similar.

What a great qult hetty. I wonder if you are going to get produce from that vine.
quilt is really nice and that flower looks already very good. hopefully you will get a big piece of something from it.
They really do look a lot alike. If I were a botanist I'd make a guess but I'm just an Okie that loves to grow stuff, mostly flowers, but the last few years veggies, too. I'd not guess cucumbers as that looks like a pretty large blossom... but squash or pumpkins... what a fun mystery.
The quilt is beautiful. You have such a melodic choice of colors singing a song there...

Your quilts are always so pretty!!
I bet that vine is a pumpkin or some kind of squash. Did you use compost in your flower bed? It will be fun to see what it turns into....so don't pull it up...not just yet anyways ;)
another beautiful project completed. And, for that flower on the vine... hmmm, I'd say squash. Will be interesting to find out what it really is.
I just want to thank you for being such a loyal fried. No matter what I am going through (and heaven knows, there's been a lot lately) you have remained steadfast and I just can't tell you what that means to me. Thanks, dear friend.
Love your scrappy D9P!
Love the quilt. It is beautiful. The flower is the mail from the squash family. It will be interesting to see what the female flower has on it. If it is round, it will still keep you in the dark since then it could be anything. Looks like you are having fun with it and looking forward to seeing what it really is.
Hi Hetty, somehow I lost your blog in my blogroll. I think it has to do with the trouble you had.
You have made some beautiful quilts! And I just love the story of the alien plant. We know where you'll be, if we don't hear from you for a long time ;)
Your kitchen is getting along fine too.
I'll try putting you back on my blogroll tomorrow!
Have a lovely Thursday!
The quilt's great, Hetty. I love how the red so consistent throughout - great planning!! The recipient will just love it.
Love your scrappy DNP quilt. That's one of my favorite patterns to make.
