OMG! Can you believe it? We are already at week 40 in the Friday Block Party! If I was pregnant I would be pushing out a cute little bundle right about now. NOT! But I could be showing you a finished quilt using many of the blocks to date. Just haven't gotten around to putting them together. I guess the quilt gestation period is much longer than 40 weeks!
This is the block for this week. It is called 'Album Star'. It is an 8inch block. I love star blocks! When I first saw this one I thought it would be easy. I got all excited and even thought of doing a whole photo album quilt, putting the photos in the centre of each block. I think that's why it is called 'Album Star'. But it should be called 'Al-butt rats' or 'Al-burn Star'! Sorry folks. I'm just playing with the letters. That's the frame of mind I'm in.
This block almost drove me out the window. Not really too bad since I live in a bungalow, but you get what I'm saying! I think the directions are to blame. After all, it can't be me! The instructions said to cut a 5.25 square and cut that into quarters from corner to corner. I think that is too small. I tried a 5.75 square, but that still did not work out right. I wish I had a triangle ruler. My sewing room is a total disaster because of this block. I have little triangles, scraps and bits and pieces sewn together, but nothing fits! So this morning I started all over. Instead of the triangle block with the half triangles on the side, I made two HST units for each long triangle. The rest was according to the instructions. Then I sewed all my pieces together and it all seems to be okay. It measure 8.5inches.
Today is day 3 of Blogtoberfest and I am already running out of things to post.

It looks VERY pretty and I'd never have guessed it gave you a hard time to make that one!
A very pretty block!
Blogging each day is not easy! With the changing season and light it‘s also more difficult to take pictures.
Well check you out my friend - you darn sure worked that out! One thing you could blog about tomorrow - your favorite relative. Corny, I know but just a thought...
It's a beautiful block and it's too bad it gave you fits. Guess there is no 'quilt' going happen out of that one block.
What a lovely block. Even if it did almost drive you crazy! I can imagine it must be really hard to blog about something every day. I think it would keep me up at night trying to come up with something.

You did this block justice - I REALLY like it. You don't know what to blog about; may I remind you, you have 2 adorable cats, and you have an audience who love them [insert winky face].
