Sky Watch Friday - October Sky

This is an October sky over the Kawartha Lakes area of Ontario. It looks quite benign, but this weather system brought cold rain, sleet, wet snow and ice and created havoc on the roadways of Central Ontario. If you want to see more Sky Watch Friday photos from around the world go to

The reeds and grasses on the right frame the photograph nicely and give the clouds in the sky and interesting contrast.

I like how you have framed with the bull rushes. They are a lovely shape, aren't they? The leading edge of that bank of clouds does look like it has a bit of havoc to wreak. Here in Australia we simply do not have weather systems such as you describe.
